Xiaomi , the Chinese manufacturing company is known for providing us with the affordable Smartphone and now its time to get another product from them, Xiaomi Mi box, powered by the Android TV at just $69.
This news was declared during the Google I/O conference in May which created great excitement among people. Android TV operating system even though launched quite a back but failed to gain that high popularity which might be possible now due to the availability of the much affordable Android TV set top box, Mi Box.
This set top box is featured to offer 4K videos at 60 FPS while it also supports HDR content and Dolby digital plus audio playback. Partnership with Google allowed the company to include Google Cast and Google voice search that can be activated through a button in the Bluetooth remote control. Again there is option to stream YouTube, Netflix, Sling TV, FandangoNOW, Vudu and other similar services through this Xiaomi Mi box.
This is a square shaped box which packs inside a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali 450 GPU and 2GB RAM. The box comes with a fair 8GB storage which can be further upgraded using microUSB port. Apart from the USB connectivity it also includes a Bluetooth Remote control. Support of HDR10 technology help you get the right colour, brightness and contrast without any impact on the clarity and sharpness.
This box is available for sale only in US as of now and you can buy it through the company website Mi.com and in the Walmart stores. But it is still not announced when this set top box will be made available in all other countries. So, if you are not from the US, wait for few more weeks to see if Xiaomi finally makes it available in all the international market soon.
