A leak back in June indicated that Microsoft is all set to release an SKU of Windows 10 OS which will be called as Windows 10 Pro for Workstation PCs. However, this is not the actual name as Microsoft has officially revealed this OS yesterday and confirmed that this edition is called as Windows 10 Pro for Workstations.

It is designed especially for the server grade PC hardware which comes wrapped with four major improvements to be enjoyed greatly. Here is the explanation of these improvements.

Windows 10 Pro for workstations

Resilient File system

This is one of the notable improvements in this Windows 10 Edition for the Workstations. This feature will remain enabled by default which will make the handling of large volume data and auto-correction easier while resilience against data corruption will be highly provided.

Persistent memory

This is another major improvement in the edition of Windows 10 Pro for workstations. This feature will allow you to access the file in a far speedy way while the read and write speed will get a huge boost.

Faster file sharing

Users will also be able to enjoy the faster file sharing due to an integration of SMB Direct which allows Microsoft to support Remote Direct Memory Access capability. This helps the network adaptor to work in low latency while it makes use of minimal CPU. All these things altogether contribute to faster file sharing process in the high-speed networks.

Expanded hardware support

Microsoft has expanded the hardware support highly. This edition is designed such a great way to support the high-performance configurations. Processors such as AMD Opteron or Server grade Intel Xeon along with 4 physical CPUs and 6TB of RAM will be supported by this Windows 10 Pro for Workstations.

So, the improvements are really enjoyable. Anyways, users need to wait till the coming fall to get their hands on it.
