Wearable tech is giving us reason to believe that fashion is going to change very soon. All those ramp walks will have models wearing a lot more than silicon and clothes. But just before we get too lost in our imaginations of models and wearable tech, the medical industry for now, is experiencing its own confrontations with wearable tech.

We are talking about integrated circuits which are supposedly the fastest, thinnest and can stretch more than what we have known about wearables when it comes to technology so far. This was published in a news paper by a team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Hospitals of the Future May Be Better than Our Imaginations

The University explains that the circuits gain their flexibility through their structure where the transmission lines are in repeated S-curves. Not only does this achieve flexibility, but it also helps in shielding the circuits from outside interference and assists in confining the electromagnetic waves which are flowing through the circuits.

It can help the medical field by having patients, especially those in the Intensive Care Units, wear these circuits like a tattoo so that patients can be monitored easily without being tied down with a number of wires around the bed. Not only does this help in the comfort of the patient, this can also make it very easy for doctors to set things up. With fewer wires to deal with, doctors and patients will feel more at ease.

Since the technology is still in its nascent stages, we are not sure about the impact it may have in the medical industry, but if it stands true to its word, it can make hospital visits a lot better than what they are today.

We have no doubt that wearable tech is here to make a difference, and if its impact spreads to things that are more than just entertainment based or the kind that adds sophistication to life, then we have developed a technology which is here to stay for longer than what may think of it.
