Sony is giving its PlayStation owners a chance to have the demo taste of what is coming in their latest, most-anticipated VR tech.
PlayStation VR will be rolling out this year in fall, and techies would want a hand on it really quick to test the device with Sony’s latest consoles and figure whether it is as enjoyable as it is promised to be.
TechTime Reports, during the E3 2016, Sony confirmed that the PlayStation VR will land on Oct. 13. Buyers have two choices for their purchase. They can get the bare PlayStation VR unit at a price point of $399 or a complete kit containing the unit, the PlayStation Camera (mandatory) and the Move controllers (optional, but highly recommended). However, the release date is a bit too far for curious fans, so those waiting to see the device go live might wait a lot longer before getting their own. Seeing how the preorders have already emptied Sony’s stock, it would be nice to be able to test the VR headset before staying up in line for a new batch.
VR Headset Would Debut in North America on Oct 13
In a blog post, the company announced that they will place playable demo units in the store on Friday and Saturday, and as the next session of pre-orders will start soon. They want to make sure that gamers make an informed decision whether to buy PlayStation VR or not and if yes, then in which configuration. Sony again reminded its followers that its VR headset would debut in North America on Oct 13.
On June 17 and 18, we’re going to offer PS VR demos at more than 30 Best Buy and GameStop locations.
The company added that the program will expand to 300 locations in the United States and Canada starting June 24.
Are you as excited for this as we are?
