Samsung’s mobile business president DJ Koh announced of bringing the first foldable smartphone in 2016. They also started working on that long back. Earlier it was expected that the foldable phone will arrive by 2018. But, the company announced again that it will take some time and they will launch the phone by the beginning of 2019.

They also recently held an unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 9. And the president Koh announced there that they strongly desire to be the first vendor of the foldable smartphone.

It was Samsung only that floated the idea of the foldable smartphone. But, later on, most of the smartphone manufacturers started working on that. Currently, Apple, LG Electronics and Huawei too are working on the same project. And Huawei too announced of bringing the first foldable phone by the early of 2019. Even Huawei stated that they will bring the phone before Samsung. The reason is they are also eager to win the first ever title for this project.

So, who will actually bring the foldable phone first? We have to wait for another leak to get this confirmed.

Samsung is also working on the 5G phone project. The next year have many more things in store for us. Most of the mobile carriers will roll out 5G by the next year. Earlier it was expected that Samsung will bring their Galaxy S10 as a 5G phone. But, this news is not true and Koh has confirmed this. He said they will definitely bring the 5G phone by next year. But that won’t be the Galaxy S10. So, will it be that foldable smartphone?

Samsung mobile business president DJ Koh has again stated that this foldable project is not for time being. So, they are producing it high volume and there will be a series of this as well.
