Ninety7, the technology lifestyle company behind top-selling VAUX, the first battery-powered speaker designed for the Amazon Echo Dot, today announced SKY, a portable battery base for the Amazon Echo (2nd Gen). SKY provides cordless freedom, letting you unplug and take Alexa anywhere you choose.
Following three successful launches in the company’s first year, SKY is the latest of several smart assistant accessory products Ninety7 plans to release this year for both Amazon and Google Home. Pre-orders for SKY will start today on Ninety7.com for an exclusive pre-order price of $49.95, $10 off the retail price of $59.95. Pre-orders are estimated to ship in early June.
SKY was designed to seamlessly integrate with the Amazon Echo 2. Its powerful, lithium-ion rechargeable battery allows up to eight unplugged hours of use. SKY features a carrying handle to maximize ease of portability around the home, as well as 4 LED lights on the front, allowing for a quick and easy gauge of remaining battery life.
Install is simple and cable free—just remove Amazon Echo 2’s original factory sleeve and the rubber nub at the base to expose Echo 2 power pins (Ninety7 includes a tool for ease of removal). Then simply insert the device into SKY’s battery sleeve, and effortlessly connect for cord-free mobility.
With the popularity of voice assistants dominating the market, the need to move beyond the power outlet is becoming more and more desired by consumers. The Amazon Echo 2 is a robust smart speaker with quality audio, and with SKY, you can elevate the experience even further with cordless portability.
